If you tend to rely on one or two ‘go-to’ influencing styles when managing people, the chances are that you won’t compel people half as much as if you thought a bit about the other person’s perspective and changed your tactics to suit.
You will:
Know when influencing works, when it doesn’t and the psychology behind it
Understand the importance of thinking about the other person, using the meta-mirror technique to view the perspectives of the people you need to influence
Be able to use a multitude of different influencing tactics
Formulate strategies to influence specific people at work such as your team members, peers and boss
