As a manager, you have a responsibility to help the next generation build knowledge, skills and confidence by passing on what you’ve learnt. But mentoring is not instruction. It’s the more subtle making of offers through inspiring storytelling, appropriate challenge, and credible guidance.

You will:

Know the differences between sponsorship and developmental mentoring
Understand six approaches to mentoring and know when and how to use each one
Practice using the six styles in real-life scenarios
Be able to blend the styles to meet the specific needs of the people you are mentoring

Coach Everyday

A prescriptive style can stifle creativity and empowerment. Coaching keeps responsibility with the individual, enabling them to generate and act upon their own solutions. And contrary to what you may think, it doesn’t have to take long out of your busy day.

Story Telling
